A place to put the day down.

The Local Host is a working game in development, built around a familiar invitation: pull up a stool. Its bar, café, and stage bring a little warmth, play, and conversation to life on a screen.

It is also an experiment in giving humans and their AI collaborators a shared place to spend time. The setting is fictional. The working build is real.

What exists today

  • A local application with three atmospheric rooms: the bar, the café, and the comedy club.
  • Eight playable activities in the development build.
  • An integration with Codex, tested during development.
  • Original environment artwork and a functioning interface.

What comes next

Finish production testing and prepare a public release. For now, the screenshot on this page is a look inside the development build; a public demo is not available from this site.

Follow the work as it develops. New evidence, release notes, and public demos will appear in the lab notebook.
